Multidimensional Ability Assessment for Hong Kong Children: Socialization Skills, Attention, Intelligence Quotient, Chinese Story Listening, and Vocabulary Acquisition
What is the purpose of the project?
This project aims to investigate how social skills and attention development influence children’s Chinese story listening comprehension. We will focus on both those with autism spectrum disorder and typically developing children. The project will conduct comprehensive assessments of participants’ Chinese listening comprehension and vocabulary learning difficulties through a series of standardized tests, including language, IQ, and attention behavioral tasks. A personalized assessment report will be provided to help parents gain a thorough understanding of their child’s abilities.
Who are eligible to participate?
Cantonese-speaking children aged 4 to 9, either with autism or typically developing.
What will you and your child do?
The study involves two sessions, scheduled one week apart, each lasting approximately 1.5 hours.

The Hong Kong Polytechnic University at times convenient for participating families.
What can you get?
As a token of appreciation, each family that completes the study will receive HK$400 cash and a detailed report on their child’s assessed abilities.
