WHAT is the purpose of the study?
The goal of this research program is to explore the academic language development trajectories among Cantonese-speaking youth.

 

WHO are eligible to participate?
Cantonese-speaking students who are between 9;8 to 14;7 and currently studying at Primary 5 to Secondary 3.

Both typically-developing students and students with speech, language and communication needs are welcomed.

 

WHAT will the participants be asked to do?
Providing his/her profile information, completing a short activity to check how he/she reason and solve problems; watching some videos and producing some informational texts; listening to and retelling some stories; filling out a short questionnaire.

 

WHEN and WHERE will the study take place?
The study will take place either at the Speech and Language Sciences Lab at PolyU or on Zoom. We will schedule sessions at your convenience.The participant will receive monetary reimbursement $240 after completing all the tasks!
