WHAT is the purpose of the study?
This study aims to explore the language and verbal reasoning skills of typically developing Mandarin-speaking adolescents across different age groups.

WHO are eligible to participate?
We are recruiting native Mandarin speakers aged 9 - 24 years who are:

• Primary 5, Primary 6, Secondary 1, Secondary 2, or Secondary 3 students;
  OR

• Bachelor’s degree students (Year 1 - 4).

 

WHAT will participants be asked to do?
Participants will:

• Complete a short background information questionnaire;

• Complete a series of cognitive and language assessments;

• Retell short stories and answer related questions.

 

WHEN and WHERE will the study take place?
The study will be conducted online via Zoom or on the PolyU campus, depending on participants’ convenience.

 

WHAT are the benefits of participation?

• Participants will receive feedback on their general language and cognitive abilities.

• Each participant will receive an honorarium of HK$100/hours (approximately 1 - 2 hours).
